Football, Flirting and Fun. A Game of Two Halves at Bar Kick, Tuesday 25th November.
A Game of Two Halves is a new and unique singles night involving speed Babyfoot, ridiculous conversation, and good old-fashioned flirting skills!
A Game of Two Halves is played at Bar Kick in Shoreditch, the UK's foremost table football venue, so it involves table football, and also has elements of an Edwardian parlour game and the etiquette of romance, as well as modern speed dating techniques and tongue in cheek humour. Teams are guided by a pair of Love Doctors, acting as referees and matchmakers. Flirting accessories and advice are handed out, Love Cocktails are consumed, and at the end of the evening some lucky players will be handed a green card and told "Congratulations, you've scored!"
Outline of The Game
Individuals must arrive prepared with a Ridiculous Topic of Conversation. At the start of the game, cards and flirting props (including roses, gloves and hankies) will be handed out, and Love Doctors Taffler and Ware will coach players with flirting tips, rules, and advice on the use of the props. Football tables are divided into Match and Bench sides, each consisting of three football tables and three talking tables. Teams are allocated tables, and they're off, either playing football or discussing their topic of conversation for 3 minutes, then the whistle blows and the teams move around. If rules are broken, or lines of decency crossed, offenders are given a yellow card. Anyone receiving a second yellow card will be sent to the Bench and given a talking-to. After a Half Time break, play is resumed with the opposite teams. At Full Time a mingling session begins, with Taffler and Ware encouraging and aiding players to get to know their Goal Mates. At the end of the evening, cards are filled in with contact details and handed to the chosen one - or two - or three.
As the Game incorporates old-fashioned values, Love Doctors Taffler and Ware will be in Edwardian Gentry dress. Players are invited to dress accordingly if they wish. Stick-on moustaches will be freely available for those who feel they need gentrifying.
